M.Y. Hasna launch – excellence in elegance

Monday, 5th June 2017: RWD is thrilled to announce the launch of Hasna (Project #813), the latest in an enviable portfolio of unique and tailor made Superyachts. Hasna embodies 73 metres of RWD’s all-encompassing original approach to yacht design, both inside and out.

Justin Redman, Founder and CEO at RWD commented, “Our thanks go to a very engaged, trusting and supportive Owner. It has been a very enjoyable journey together since November 2012 which rightly makes the moment of seeing his beautiful yacht Hasna, being launched today, very special indeed.”

Charlie Baker, project manager at RWD explains, “The brief was to create a timeless exterior profile with lots of subtle details, many of which are inspired by an automotive aesthetic. Hasna’s profile has an understated elegance interrupted by standout features such as the giant swimming pool on the aft deck with its infinity waterfall and curved glass sections. The brief also extended to two beautifully crafted tenders.

From the outset RWD were tasked with creating spaces which fundamentally focussed on family life and included accommodation for 12 guests, cinema room, treatment room and all the luxuries befitting a yacht of this calibre.

Elegant sliding doors on the sun deck open to reveal a 7 metre scrubbed teak and Travertine Navona bar which continues from the inside out, giving an uninterrupted entertainment space, streamlining into a Teppanyaki bar at one end.

The on-board spaces are filled with natural light by day and come alive with bespoke decorative lighting and subtle architectural lighting by night.

RWD’s interiors team designed many key pieces of bespoke lighting and furniture, built by skilled craftsmen and women from across the globe; including prestigious furniture makers, Silverlining and LINLEY in the UK, renowned Australian cabinet maker David Boucher and lighting pendants by Silversmith Theresa Nguyen, a talented discovery from RWD’s support of Walpole’s Crafted programme.

RWD’s Head of Interior Design, Jack Canning explained, “The interior scheme works in harmony with the exterior living spaces, an honest and natural palette of finishes creates the perfect background for small embellishments of opulent materials and art to stand out from.”
The result is a Superyacht which demonstrates RWD’s genuine spirit for original design excellence across the entire yacht design spectrum.

Having collaborated on this project with the Royal Van Lent Shipyard in the Netherlands since 2014, RWD have enjoyed a great relationship, demonstrating between them a commitment to listening to the clients’ wish list, innovative design and together with naval architects De Voogt/Feadship, created this beautifully crafted yacht.

The RWD Studio also designed custom tenders for on board Hasna; complimenting, reflecting and continuing the same attention to detail, exacting standards and innovative thinking, demonstrated throughout the mother ship.

The interior of the limousine tender takes inspiration from Hasna’s finishes and colours. The sports styled stitched upholstery is extremely luxurious inside and out, while the subtle lighting of interior textures adds an unsurpassed elegance to these fully customised tenders, built in Australia by Vikal.
